uScene is an organization that connects college students to music in the community around them. We provide an informational center where students can connect with each other, find aggregated info about music in their area, and connect with professional opportunities.

uScene.net is the center of uScene - a social networking hub that will develop to allow musicians and music fans alike to customize their experience based on their location and interests. Separated on principles of not only genres and styles, but also geographical area and stratified networks, uScene studies how music fans connect with their community and helps better their connection. uScene.net is currently in development, see our profile here for more on our development.

Throughout September and October, uScene will be conducting tours and small events in support of the website, in cities currently including Rochester, Geneseo, and Ithaca. A later tour in the fall may include Syracuse, Burlington (VT), and Boston. Our tour article can be found here

Beginning in October, uScene Professional will begin operations - a business, pulled from the most passionate members of the uScene network, dedicated to creating professional opportunities in the music and entertainment industries. uScene Professional will provide professional services to area organizations and musicians in web/graphic design, writing, stage/concert management and promotion, street team support, and more. If you are a local student or recent graduate who is passionate about music and skilled in one (or many) of these areas, contact josh@uscene.net.

While uScene Professional is limited to particular areas, uScene will be open nationwide as demanded; uScene pages will created and content managed for areas by sponsoring organizations who join the uScene network through their cities and schools. Throughout the 2008-2009 school year uScene will be developing a network of college students and young professionals, catering on every level to the musical needs of the population; by Summer of 2009, uScene will be operating as a full-service music production/promotion support agency.
